Playa Mogan

Mogan beach

Mogan beach is located within the well-known coastal town of Puerto de Mogán. It is characterized by its calm waters and golden sand, being one of the most famous in Gran Canaria. Here we give you all the details that you should know before visiting it.

It is a small beach with around 200 meters in length. Despite this, it has numerous services. For example, it is one of the most accessible beaches of Gran Canaria. In other words, suitable for people with reduced mobility. It also has showers and an area to rent sun beds and umbrellas.

Likewise, we can say that it is an ideal beach for families, since, in addition to being calm waters, it has a children’s area. At the same time, on the shore you can rent paddleboats, go scuba diving, among others.

On one side of the beach is the famous Puerto de Mogán. On the opposite side we have a small virgin stone cove with a small dock where you can bathe by accessing some stairs. On this side of the beach, the water is somewhat cleaner as it is more open to the ocean.

In addition, on the coast of Mogán you can enjoy the sun practically every day since it is one of the areas of the island where there are more hours and days of sunshine a year. What’s more, from Puerto de Mogán you can see one of the best sunsets in Gran Canaria.

Restaurants in Playa Mogan

Regarding gastronomy, near the beach we know the Fishermen’s Association of the Port (although we have not gone for a long time, we remember it nice). You also have the option of trying the Los Guayres restaurant, inside the Cordial Mogán Playa hotel. It is one of the few restaurants with a Michelin Star in Gran Canaria. For ice cream we like Gelatomanía a lot, right in front of the beach. The rest of the sites seem quite touristy, but the truth is that we have not tried them.

Discover the most authentic side of Gran Canaria. The island offers much more than sun and sand. You can’t miss it as you are coming!
